
The double crochet is a great starting point when learning to crochet. It is used when making blankets, clothes and amigurumi (toys) I use it in most of my patterns.
This is a UK double crochet, which is the same as a US single crochet, for a handy conversion chart, click here
Complete your chain with the number of stitches given in your pattern, hold your chain on its side with the v’s facing you:

Miss the first chain, work into the second chain from the hook
