Back in January my son said to me ” This week feels like itβs gone on for a month!” I definitely knew what he meant! π₯±
I do think itβs a January thing and we can all feel a bit like that so when my lovely friends at @hobbii_yarn asked if I wanted to take part in their new βNo Shades of Greyβ challenge I thought it would be a great idea to work with a bit of colour and perk us all up a bit!
I have been challenged to make something wearable that has at least four colours. Iβve chosen to use Hobbii Amigo XL because I really liked the choice of colours when I used the chunky version for my Chunky Chevron Blanket. These are the colours I have gone for:
Light Lilac (A48)
Light Peach (A46)
Primrose (A35)
Mint (A29)
Sky Blue (A16)
Wisteria (A58)
Light Pink (A57)
Titanium (A07)

Maybe I will call this #RainbowMonday from now on?!

I have made a couple of swatches to help me get the feel of the yarn and how the colours will work together, I always find that they look so different when they are actually crocheted into a piece of work compared to when they are sat in their skeins.

I am really drawn towards pastel rainbow colours at the moment so these have been a pleasure to work with! I still chant the little rhyme that my friend Louisa @robinsandrainbows taught me to help me pick the colours;
βRichard Of York Gave Battle In Vainβ
(Red, Orange, York, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)
Even though I have mixed up the order a bit!
Any guesses what I am making?!

Well I didnβt say WHO the wearable was for did I?!
I have designed this cute crochet Rainbow Bobble Snood pattern to keep your doggy warm and stylish during the colder weather. It uses diagonal half trebles, dc and bobble stitches in a simple repeating pattern. Tried and tested by Ernie, Skye and a few cat friends too!!

What a dapper model!

I donβt have a dog, but the small size fits my cat!
I used Lionbrand touch of alpaca for the main body, and some Scheepjes colour crafter for the bobbles.
The project was fun, took under an hour and was a good stash buster.

Well I didn’t think a cat would be happy to wear a snood but here we are! How adorable!

Another happy cat in a snood! And gorgeous doggies, thank you Marj!
