Make one for a new baby, as a lap blanket or to give to a friend that needs a boost.
I have designed it to be easy to follow, so it is beginner friendly and I give you the colour recipe and amounts of yarn you will need, some of my testers managed to use up their scraps as it doesn’t take up too much of each colour.
There is a photo tutorial included to help you make the bobble pom poms which are crocheted as you make the blanket and therefore won’t shed or fall off.
Materials
4mm hook
124g dk yarn, I used stylecraft special dk
Silver 21g
Magenta 9g
Cloud blue 12g
Pistachio 15g
Buttermilk 20g
Spice 22g
Lipstick 25g
Yarn Needle
2 stitch markers
Size
Finished blanket measures approx 46 x 71cm (18 x 28 inches), ideal for a baby blanket or lap blanket.
Tension
16st and 9 rows in tr to 10cm/4in using 4mm hook or size needed to obtain tension. Pattern will work if tension is not exactly the same but size may vary.

For my chunky version of this Rainbow Drop Blanket
8mm hook approx 925g chunky yarn, I used Deramores Studio Chunky
Blue Comet 20g
Fuchia 55g
Aubergine 80g
Cornflower 100g
Fir 130g
Mustard 155g
Burnt Orange 175g
Ruby 210g
I followed the pattern using the colours in the order above. The blanket measures width 125cm x height not including bobbles 81cm (49 x 32inches)
