Materials:
Hair bands,
Tie yarn to the hair band with a knot. Make sure this is secure, especially if you are using a slippery yarn such as the velvet yarn.
1
Working into the hairband, chain 3
2
Work a double treble onto the hairband
3
Continue to work double trebles onto the hairband
4
Pull the stitches towards the original knot that you tied with your fingers to scrunch them together,
enabling you to have more of the hairband showing at the left of the dtr stitches to work more stitches onto it.
5
Continue working dtrs onto the hairband until there are no gaps, pulling the stitches along your hairband as shown above until there is no more hairband showing
6
When you have completely covered the hairband, join to the top of your chain 3 with a slip stitch
7
Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail
8
Tie a knot in the two yarn tails. I would not usually advise this as it can make your crochet look untidy, however when you are using a slippery yarn it is much more likely to work free, so this is an extra measure to avoid it unraveling.
9
Use a yarn needle to sew in the tail ends
10
Cut ends. That’s it, you’ve finished!
