Melu Crochet: Pattern Testers Wanted!

Would you like to be a pattern tester for Melu Crochet?

I’ve got a group of fantastic pattern testers already (they’re all very experienced!), but I’m now looking for beginner crocheters too, as I’m developing simpler patterns. I want these to be truly beginner-friendly and easy to follow.

Experienced or intermediate crocheters (or anyone unsure of their level) are also welcome to apply.

I test all patterns to ensure accuracy in sizing, yarn requirements, and clarity of instructions. This helps make sure the final pattern is clear, reliable, and enjoyable to complete.

What I need from testers:

• Honest, detailed feedback (especially if anything is unclear or confusing)
• Notes like “this doesn’t make sense” or “what does this mean?” plus screenshots/photos where possible
• Help spotting typos, unclear wording, or confusing instructions (including any UK phrasing that might not translate well internationally)
• Progress photos and finished project photos (ideally styled using yourself, a friend or family member)
• Permission for me to share your photos on my website and social media
• A record of yarn used (amount, brand, colour), as I love seeing how different yarns change the final result

You’ll be given a deadline for completion, along with a date to send feedback and photos.

How to apply:
Subscribe to this blog to be notified when a new pattern test opens. Each tester call will include details about the project (such as sizes, yarn requirements, and timeframe) along with an application form. I’ll select testers based on the needs of that particular pattern, including experience level and sizes required.

I receive a lot of applications, so not everyone will be selected each time, but you may be invited for future tests.
