Melu Crochet: Spring Fling Wrap

Back in March I accepted the #HobbiiSpringFling challenge by Hobbii which was so lovely because the focus was on flowers 🌸

I had seen the crocuses popping up in the woods and it really lifted my mood knowing that spring was here!

In celebration of this I made a start on this wrap, I wanted something to put around my shoulders on an evening.

My Spring Fling Wrap is now available in my Etsy shop, LoveCrafts shop, on Ravelry and on Hobbii.com!

I’ve used my favourite bobble stitch in a simple repeating pattern to create these little daisies

Making good progress on my #hobbiispringfling wrap😍

I have designed this to be worn on a lovely spring afternoon so I have used filet crochet to create the little holes which let the light and air through. I love bobbles as you probably know by now so I have included these to make the little flowers 🌸

Lots of people have been asking me if I am using both cakes at the same time, or will I be using one after the other. Well, I wanted to make a larger wrap for this project and I wanted the colours to continue throughout the wrap without having to repeat them, so I had the idea of using two strands of two different twister cakes at the same time (and therefore using a larger hook).

I am really happy with the effect this has given, the project has worked up faster than it would with using a single strand and the colours flow through the wrap beautifully! I have added a video to show you how I did this so that you can do it too! 😁

Getting to the end of this one now

The Bobble Pom Pom edging is worked as you go so will not shed or fall off, they also follow the gradient of the scarf adding extra detail.  #HobbiiSpringFling wrap 🌸

I love the feeling that you get in spring with the new flowers popping up and the weather getting better, it just makes everyone a bit happier! For example, I was at the supermarket on Sunday and let someone go in front of me because they only had a couple of things in their basket and they bought me these beautiful tulips to say thank you 💐 how kind! ☺️

Testers!

I offered the the chance for crocheters to test the Spring Fling Wrap pattern for me so that I can make sure the sizes and amount of yarn needed are accurate, and that the instructions are correctly written and easy to follow.

I ran a Facebook group to communicate with testers get feedback on the pattern. They really did an amazing job and I am thrilled with how the test went.

Here are the Spring Fling Wraps that my amazing testers made, click their names to follow them on Instagram or Facebook a huge thank you to them for taking such care and doing such a lovely job!
